Pueblo Area – USFS/BLM, Interop Fire Tac & KPUB Airband

This feed monitors USFS (Pike & San Isabel National Forest) and BLM land mobile frequencies, Pueblo Interagency Fire Dispatch (air-air, air-ground, and VFIRE mutual aid tactical channels), and Pueblo Memorial Airport (PUB) tower, ground, and approach/departure traffic. Coverage and audio quality may vary by transmission site and local terrain. 

The primary goal of this feed is to support WatchDuty.org reporters. Fire-related transmissions are prioritized, and other channels may be muted during active fire incidents.

U.S. Forest Service — Pike & San Isabel National Forest (NFM)

Routine forestry operations, work crew coordination, and wildland fire tactical traffic across the Pike and San Isabel National Forests. Expect radio checks, logistics chatter, and fire crew communications during active incidents — often quiet outside of work hours or fire season.

Bureau of Land Management (NFM)

Statewide BLM dispatch and field operations traffic for public lands management, resource protection, and land-use activity in the region.

FAA / Pueblo Memorial Airport (KPUB) (AM)

Live air traffic control — pilots communicating with the control tower, ground control, clearance delivery, and Denver Center approach/departure control. Expect calls like taxi instructions, takeoff/landing clearances, and traffic advisories.

Doss Aviation (KPUB-based) (AM)

Flight training operations for Doss Aviation, which conducts initial flight screening for the U.S. Air Force. 

Freeman Jet Center (KPUB FBO) (AM)

Fixed-base operator communications — general aviation ground support such as fueling, parking, and arrival/departure coordination for private and charter aircraft using the airport.

Pueblo Air Tanker Base (AM)

Coordination traffic for wildland firefighting aircraft operating out of the Pueblo air tanker base, most active during fire response operations.

Pueblo Interagency Fire Dispatch (AM/NFM)

Air-to-air and air-to-ground coordination between aircraft and ground crews during wildland fire operations — pilots relaying positions, coordinating retardant/water drops, and communicating with dispatch. Activity is closely tied to active fire incidents.

National Fire Mutual Aid — VFIRE (NFM)

Standardized nationwide tactical channels used by fire departments for mutual aid and multi-agency incident coordination — active local/regional fire departments working together on calls, most often heard during larger incidents.

Please note: several channels on this feed (USFS/BLM tactical and mutual aid frequencies, fire dispatch air-to-air/air-to-ground) are only active during wildland fire incidents and may be silent for extended periods otherwise. Airport airband traffic also varies with flight activity and time of day. Quiet periods are normal and do not indicate a feed outage.
