Feed Notes

NOTICE: All Broadcastify/RadioReference streams have an unavoidable one minute (+/-) delay.  If you hear a report of severe weather approaching your vicinity, please be aware that the information you're hearing is likely one minute or more old.

Audio for this feed is provided by my 22 year old Radio Shack HTX-202 transceiver via a vintage desktop computer located somewhere under the brick and steel of a non-descript building. The audio you hear is from the N8DUY repeater.  You can listen to this repeater directly at 145.150 MHz. If the N8DUY repeater fails during an emergency the net may be moved to a different repeater or simplex frequency. One option is the W8FSA repeater which transmits at 146.920 MHz. If an operator is available (not out spotting) this feed will follow the net if it moves.

What happens if power is lost at this stream's location?  During severe weather events power loss is a common problem.  It's also the time when this feed is most important. The computer and transciever that stream this feed are connected to a circuit that is powered by a backup generator. In theory, when the generator starts the computer will reboot and the streaming program will automatically start. If all goes well this stream will be back online in a few minutes. Eventually, I hope to add a UPS for the computer/scanner to eliminate or, at least, lessen the stream down time.  If you have an extra UPS please let me know.
