This streaming channel scans 3 City of Kawartha Lakes Roads radio repeaters/towers utilized by the Public Works fleet including Snowplows, Sand/Salt Trucks, Sidewalk Plows, Patrol Supervisors and other Public Works operations.

Winter operations

Kawartha Lakes is the second largest geographic municipality in Ontario. They have approximately 5400 lane kilometres to maintain during every winter and/or freezing rain event. That doesnt mean that they have the second largest fleet of trucks to deal with it.
Snow plow operations typically begin at 4am and plow routes can take as long as ten hours to complete. Plow operators driving hours are regulated by O. Reg. 555/06 Hours of Service and this limits the number of hours they can drive in any given day.
CKL has over 70 snow plow routes throughout Kawartha Lakes with a mix of employee operated and Contractor operated trucks.
