Broadcasting from the Southwest corner of Springfield, Missouri using a Uniden BCT8 Trunk Tracker III and a Realistic Pro-2052 as a backup. The feed is broadcast using a Raspberry Pi (solid-state embedded micro-computer) running DarkIce live audio streaming software over a high-speed U-verse broadband uplink connection to

The entire setup now consumes less than 12 volts of electricity. The U-verse broadband router consumes 12v, the scanner consumes 12v, and the Raspberry Pi consumes only 5v. My previous configuration required an Intel Core 2 Duo laptop running Windows 7, which operated this feed for its first 5 years.  The new setup produces almost no heat and absolutely no noise from fans or hard drives. Aside from the scanner itself, the equipment providing this feed is powered by a cell phone charger.
