This feed contains an unique analog/digital trunked & analog audio from multi-cast systems from communications towers around the community for officials to communicate on. The audio heard, in part, covers public safety, emergecies & events for St. George, UT. St. George also serves as dispatch liason (911) control center for county-wide Ops for PD, FD Law Enforcement, special operations, Search & Rescue, organized events, practice mock disasters & actual disatsers &/or catastrophic events in their respected locale in the County. Also included, but not limtited to: Traffic, crowd control, SKYWARN, UDOT, ARES, RACES. ARES is activated before, during & after an emergency, handling all emergency messages including those between gov't emergency mgt officials. RACES, is active only during emergencies & during immediate aftermath - if gov't mgt is needed for commssupport. Flight & ambulatory control, UHP, Fire & Ambulatory (countywide), & a very active volunteer community is involved in the civil enforcement & presrvation of this beautiful County. They include a great number of Amateur Radio station operators & numerous volunteer firefighters that live locally to serve for the purposes of preserving resources & saving the lives of neighbors & residents. Washington County handles several Search & Rescue calls because of the nature of the County & because of the number of National & State Parks within Washington County.

Interstate 15, the fourth busiest & dangerous Interstates in the U.S. runs through St. George & Washington County; North-bound & South-bound, can be considered a threat to the close area of residents, and to find out where many of the calls are sent to & fro.

St. George is Home of Dixie State University & Police Force With its year-round traffic incuding: Parade of Homes, Spring Breaks, & it's regional airport; it is constantly on the move with concurring growth, in which future growth projections from a current... 75,000 residents to 1/2 million in the next 15-20 years will be realized.
Dixie Regional Medical Center is the major medical referral with numerous ambulatory flights (Fixed & Rotary) serving northwestern Arizona, southeastern Nevada, & southern Utah. Fully accredited, it serves as a level II trauma center, caring for almost all trauma patients (with the exception of major pediatric trauma).
With flights now to Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, & Salt Lake City, the airport has made this city accessible internationally, bringing in people from all over the globe to experiece the beautiful National Parks & State Parks that exist around St. George & Washington County. Year-round recreational activities will always continue to exisit in beautiful St. George.
St. George Airport (KSGU) creates an important (regional) airport hub for incoming & outgoing flights for American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaskan Airlines, & Delta Airlines; operated by SkyWest Airlines. Coincidentallly, its Corporate Headquarters (a once humble airline created in St. George 45+ years ago, now a bustling & successful airline) it headquarters are actually located in St. George, UT. SKYWEST Airlines is now in one of the top recognized regional airlines in the country in Safety & Revenue - approaching that of major carriers. SKYWEST & Intermountain Healthcare Hospitals, both populate the area with the majority of working jobs for families who are not retired. This City remains to be one of the top places in the nation to retire and live.

The Interstate Freeway System, since its inception in 1956 has created traffic congestion through the United States's Transportation Road System - that the original designers could never have imagined it would turn out to be.... and it is getting worse. Tens of billions of dollars are needed just to maintain existing interstates and bridges, & countless more billions are needed to widen &/or improve existing interstates to keep up with growing traffic.
Interstate 15 is currently #4 as the busiest & deadliest Freeway in American - spanning through many states from California to the border of Canada.
Other major highways in Washington County need special attention to when traveling as "Zero Fatalities" a program funded in Utah by Utah seeks the goal of "Zero Fatalities." The program since it has launched years ago has reported:
SR-18, or Highway 18, a stretch of 51 miles from St. George to Veyo, to Enterprise, & on to Beryl - located in Iron County, Washigton's northern neighboring county. Its speed, terrain of roads, wildlife, & drivers make this route hazardous at different times of the day & more at certain times of the year - such as during the Summer Months. SR-18 forms part of the "Legacy Highway" from St. George to Parowan, Utah, in Iron County. It also closely follows routes of the Old Spanish Trail through Dixie National Forest.
SR-7, Otherwise known as the "Southern Parkway" connects the southern peripheral of Southern Washington County & St. George to Hurricane while providing access to the St. George Airport.
SR-17 passes 6 miles in Washington County from the town of La Verkin to Anderson Junction near Toquerville & serves as a shortcut to Zion's National Park.
SR-9 begins at I-15 at Exit 16 at Harrisburg Junction, enters Coral Canyon development & heads uphill through the town of Virgin, Rockville, & Springdale. It is also known as, "Zion's Park Scenic Byway." SR-9 also passes through purgatory flats in Hurricane, Utah "Home of the Washington County Fairgrounds," and the Penetionary.
SR-59 connects Hurricane City to the "Twin Cities" known as Hilldale, UT & Colorado City, AZ.
SR-9, or "W. Old Highway 91" runs through areas of Gunlock Resevoir, Schivwits Reservation, Pauite Reservation, Shem, & on to Beaver Dam in Arizona & beyond.
