Feed Notes

KC∅SKY repeater output frequency is on 146.70 MHz, with a CTCSS tone of 107.2 Hz.

The feed will go online:

• when SkyWarn has been activated
• if the Hazardous Weather Outlook indicates a possible need for spotters
• if conditions seem favorable for it's activation
• for occasional testing

Due to the delay or possible failure of any of the equipment involved to provide this feed, it should not be used as a single source of information to make critical life-saving evacuation decisions.

Station Description:
The radio is an early 1980's era Motorola Maxar which connects to a homemade clone of the Decibel Products/Andrew DB220 folded dipole antenna. This feed, along with the MERS feed is encoded using a 1997-1998 era IBM Aptiva computer with an AMD 233 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM. The soundcard is a CT4870 Creative Labs. The operating system is a GUI-less version of Linux Debian 6.0. liveice is used as the source client.
