Feed Notes

Connected scanner to an external antenna in the attic on July 3, 2012. This has greatly improved audio quality. This scanner will be monitoring the two primary 2-meter amateur radio repeaters in Paducah. The W4NJA repeater transmits on 147.06 MHz. This is the primary repeater used for ARES severe weather nets and the scheduled weekly net each Sunday night at 9 PM CDT. The backup repeater is the KD4DVI repeater, which transmits on 147.12 MHz. The City of Paducah Fire Department and McCracken County fire departments are also broadcast . PFD operates on the Paducah public safety trunked system (TG 19216). County fire departments use 158.76 MHz. Using a PRO-95 scanner and a two-year old Toshiba laptop. For the winter season: Kentucky State Police post 1 primary channel (digital) may be heard occasionally, especially during snow and ice storms.
