Feed Notes

Uniden Bearcat BCT15X Scanner is located at an off-grid, 1,500 foot elevation site South of of Lompoc.  Computer is a  HP t5740 Thin Client running ProScan 6.2 software.    Alpha Tags are now functioning .

Please e-mail if you have a channel not scanned and would like to hear it.   Channels can be added/deleted remotely now.

A big THANK YOU to Hornplayer of SBA for the many hours of research and refining problem channels.

UPDATES:

8 Nov. 2012:    Updated from RDT to TeamViewer.  Remotely adjusted audio & squelch levels.   Enabled MetaData on Feed Options.

7 Nov. 2012:    USB Interface cable arriived.  Server Installed.   Program froze up for unknown reason.  Problem with Remtoe Desk Top not showing Audio Input now.

30 Oct 2012:  Chaned server computer over to  an HP Thin Client t5740e running ProScan 6.2 software.   Now have Alpha Tags and remote programming capability once I get the USB cable....

7 July 2012:  Added Santa Barbara City channels for PD and Fire.   Lowered volume by another notch and increased squelch by one notch.

26 May 2012:  Added CG VHF Marine Emergency Channel 16.   Lowered Volume one notch.

23 Mar 2012:  Switched audio outputs from scanner and lowered volume.  Removed audio attenuator.    Buzzing noises seem to be lower, however some channels still sound robotic/fuzzy.

26 Nov 2011:    Rebooted PC several times due to required updates.    Added DCS031 to Vandenberg Launch Net.

16 July 2011:   Adjusted audio levels.  Swapped PC feed from scanner earphone jack to Record Output jack in an attempt to reduce residual noise.  Added CTCSS/PL to many more channels.

28 May 2011:  75% of channels have their CTCSS/PL tones identified now on paper.

21 May 2011:  Set up CTCSS scan on all channels to detect desired tones (and lack there of for dead air).  Adjusted feed level and attenuator to minimize R2D2 digitalization noises.

14 May 2011:   Converted laptop power to use DC-DC converter to avoid computer down time.   Attempting to resolve dead air by adding CTCSS (PL) tone requirement to problem channels like CHP.

April 2011: Scanner antenna upgraded to a wide-band, omni-directional disk-cone.

March 2011:  EMS channels are no longer scanned due to RR rules.

NOTE: Vandenberg Launch Net often has extended silent transmissions during and after operations. See www.spaceflightnow.com
