 FEED DETAILS AND INFORMATION:  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to FLORIDA "Sarasota County Fire DISPATCH 3 and 4" which includes the associated TACTICAL and COMMAND talkgroups for the departments listed below.

This feed covers SOUTH Sarasota County FIRE DEPARTMENT's, which includes the:City of Venice, Nokomis, City of North Port, Englewood and unincorporated areas of south Sarasota county.  All are dispatched out of the Sarasota County 9-1-1 Public Safety Communications Center located in downtown Sarasota, Florida.

THIS FEED PRIMARILY MONITORS FIRE BATTALIONS 4, 5, 7, 8 & 41 main DISPATCH channels along with the associated TAC and CMD (fireground/operations) channels  (see below for more detailed info on Unit# assignments).

For reference regarding TAC and CMD channels:  Any incident, in Sarasota county, requiring the emergency initial dispatch/response of 3 or more units are automatically assigned to a TAC (Tactical) channel upon dispatch.  If another incident occurs within the same response area which requires a seperate 'channel' as well, they are assigned to a CMD (Command) channel, which, in essence, is a secondary TAC channel for multiple working incidents, or for an incident that needs multiple, but different, channels to communicate on.   For instance, an Incident Commander at the scene of a major traffic accident may want to seperate the communications from the operating fire-rescue crews at the scene to coordinate flight operations/landing zone (LZ) of an incoming medical helicopter.    At any time, however, no matter the size or nature of the incident, the Incident Commander can order a TAC or CMD channel be assigned to the incident.  Dispatch, TAC and CMD talkgroups are all monitored on this feed.
