Listener Question: Why do I occasionaly hear a blurb traffic after a local unit or Control transmits?

Answer: That would most likely be Jefferson County Wisconsin. They have a Fire/EMS repeater on the same frequency and their signal at times is as strong as Boone County Dispatch. What you're hearing is the traffic from JeffCo getting in during the short period of time the PL (tone squelch) is over powered by their transmissions. If I didn't have tone on, when both counties transmitted only the strongest signal would be heard.
