Feed Notes

This scanner monitors Tracy Fire Department dispatch and tactical communications as well as local CAL FIRE channels. I am using a Uniden BC-780 XLT scanner connected to an antenna in my second-story attic as a receiver. It is feeding a Griffin iMic USB audio board connected to an old Mac mini computer. Using Nicecast software (very nice) to feed the audio to the RadioReference servers. AT&T DSL.

This station is NOT on a UPS at this time.

Radio traffic on this system may seem light. Calls are dispatched to everyone but the ambulances (Medic 41-49 operated by AMR) and Batallion 9 over an Internet connection to each station (91, 92, 93, 94, 96, 97, 98). Also, each vehicle is connected to the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system at AMR Lifecom in Salida. This makes it possible to dispatch, respond, solve the problem, and return to the station with very little radio traffic (at times).
