Current News 5/3/13: Butte County has received very little snow or rain since January 1 setting record or near record low precip amounts. This has in turn sent the risk of wildland fires into what we'd normally see in late July or August.
At this time, the Panther Fire is burning a few miles outside Butte County off of Hwy 32 near Butte Meadows. More than 7,000 acres has burned as of this update time.
With the current fire and likely additional fires, much of the traffic you hear may be the fire command net and some tactical nets.
We will return to our normally planned scan list once these fires die down.
