Orlando International Airport MCO - Live Aviation ATC
Orlando International Airport MCO
One of the most lively feeds on the air. Everyone coming in to see Disney World makes this airport very busy. I'm using a Barix box instead of a computer which gives great sound quality.
Scanner - Bearcat BC780XLT
Freq monitored - Tower, ground, and all approach/depature frequencies.
Antenna heigth - 30 ft.
Antenna - 5/8 wave mobile style.
Internet - Broadband
Computer - None!
Sound board - None!
Software - None!
I am using a little box called "Barix 100 Instreamer" to encode the audio from the scanner. No computer required. This is the BEST and SIMPLEST way to send audio to RadioReference.com for streaming. The audio quality is much better than most computer sound card setups. It is crazy simple to setup. No software to download. No computer to keep running. No rebooting when it locks up. No viruses. No Windows updates etc, etc. I bought mine for about 350 bucks new. You can find them on eBay for about 100 bucks. When you figure in the price of a computer, preffered sound card, and all the cables and crap you need to deal with, then the Barix box is a no-brainer. Remember, your time is worth something too. When you are buying, it is an "Instreamer", not an "Extreamer". It's important to feed these boxes from the line out, or record out of your scanner.
Just listen to it compared to other feeds. Much cleaner and eaiser to understand audio. Most computer setups have a squirly compressed sound. No I don't sell them, It just frustrates me when I hear junky sounding feeds on this great site.
Have a great day.
