The VE6TOP repeater network incorporates several VHF, UHF and 220MHZ repeaters in and around the Edmonton region. This feed will primarily monitor the UHF hub repeater on 444.700MHZ. The hub repeater uses linking radios to tie all the repeaters into the same network. the 444.700 hub repeater uses an antenna located just outside of Edmonton in Shurwood park Alberta on the top of an approximately 400FT tower curtesy of Telus Communications. Currently linked repeater sites on the network include: North of Edmonton: Smoky Lake Alberta VHF 146.685MHZ, South of Edmonton: Wataskawin Alberta VHF 147.285MHZ, South Central Edmonton: old strathcona VHF 147.390MHZ south central Edmonton: University of Alberta VA6RS 224.56MHZ and the VA6CYR UHF Echolink/IRLP node located in Morenville Alberta north of Edmonton. Additional VHF repeaters are slated to go in at Smithfield Alberta west of Edmonton and 1 east of Edmonton (as yet not confirmed). Communications are all ham related and consist of a large number of regular users. The network is primarily a rag chew network, and is not directly affiliated with any radio club or group. Feed receiver location is South Central Edmonton.
