This feed monitors 5 frequencies of Avon Indiana 'Big Four' CSX train yard and nearby Hawthorne Yard in Indianapolis.
160.560 Indy Terminal Dispatcher
160.980 Primary Switching Channel (Big 4 Yard)
161.340 Pulldown Channel 3 (Big 4 Yard)
161.350 Hump Channel 1 (Big 4 Yard)
160.800 Indianapolis Line Dispatcher, Hawthorne Yard
My location is approximately 5.5 miles from the yard. You can usually hear both ends of the conversation when the train is in the yard or on the East end. If the train is toward the West end or further, it starts to become out of range.
Sources I have found state: "The Big Four was the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis, and it actually had lines linking all of those cities. For most of its corporate life it was part of the New York Central System, and as such later was rolled into Penn Central and Conrail. The principal Big Four routes still in use include the CSX line linking Cleveland, Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Indiana and the NS line linking Columbus, OH and Cincinnati. (The ex-CR St. Louis Line west of Terre Haute uses the former Pennsy route that ran parallel to, but south of, the Big Four.)"
