This feed is monitoring the following frequency:
122.9750 MHz AM - KJYO CTAF/Unicom
This frequency is used by all aircraft departing from and approaching Leesburg Executive Airport, as well as for ground control.
About the Feed
The feed is powered by a Uniden BC250D scanner with a 5/8 wave vertical antenna. It is located about 1 mile north of the airport terminal. No AGC or compression is being applied to the scanner audio, so the volume may vary depending on who is transmitting. Also, as this is direct non-repeater communication, more distant planes, or planes with lower transmit power radios, may be harder to hear or have more noise on their transmissions.
About the Airport
Leesburg Executive Airport at Godfrey Field is the second busiest general aviation airport within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Being in such close proximity to the Washington DC area, Leesburg Airport is currently home to over 300 aircraft, including a number of planes supporting some of the largest corporations in the world. The airport is owned and operated by the Town of Leesburg, and is a designated reliever airport for Dulles International Airport.
