Feed Notes
This feed although year round, will have far greater radio activity during the annual forest fire danger seasons. This feed monitors DCR Channels 13 and 14 used by the DCR Forest Fire Lookout Towers in Central Mass. Signal coverage includes fire towers as far west as Pelham and as far east as Sharon on a regular basis, however being based in South Central Worcester County, its best and most reliable coverage area is the Worcester County Fire Towers. The Southern Worcester County Low Band and VHF mutual aid channels are also included in this feed as they are often used to contact towns with spotted smoke and coordinate mutual aid responses during brush fire season. On rare occasions, Towers as far away as Chelmsford, Plymouth, Martha's Vineyard, and Goshen can be heard. Due to a lack of available equipment, Webster Fire Department and Dudley Fire Department primary operation channels are also included.
