Feed Notes

This is the Mt. Mitchell (N2GE) repeater, home of the 6600 Net, The Blue Ridge Weather Watch and friendly folks chatting about nearly everything! The repeater covers parts of 7 states, and is the highest amateur repeater east of the Mississippi river at 6638 feet above sea level! Lots of friendly, helpful people use this repeater, and we encourage everyone listening in to get their ham radio license and join us! This feed is currently being provided by a Yaesu VX6R Tri Band handy talkie, connected to a Compaq Presario  running Windows XP (Service Pack 3). Internet connection is a low speed broadband (1mbps) provided by Mountain Area Information Network (MAIN). The antenna is a MFJ 1538 , with RG8 feed line. This radio is experiencing some desensitivity issues when I use my other radios on the same band. I am working towards a resolution to this situation by moving the feed radio to another room, and relocating the antenna to a point further away from my broadcast antennas. If you have any questions about the feed or any of the equipment mentioned, please contact me via the "Contact Broadcaster" button on the web site! Thanks for reading about the feed, and please enjoy.
